This is it
I once considered myself a man of principle, one who would never betray the free spirit of anonymous communication by demanding money, until I saw this one post by Paul Skallas
Yes, Paul, it’s my turn now. The Bureauwalk will be known to all substack groupies, and the pension will be fully funded.
I find the fragmentation of paid anonymous content to be counter-productive: the endless and expansive proliferation of substacks and podcasts dilutes messages and makes anonymous thought less accessible. An ideal world would have one or two publications that spread out the costs among creators and required only one or two subscriptions for consumers. For various reasons this isn’t possible now but maybe one of these deep state billionaires could subsidize it.
My original plan was to publish a book, though eventually I realized that such an undertaking would simply take too long. Being a far lazier and low-quality medium, blogging seems more conducive to my style. At any rate, I want to publish some of my ideas before they become stale, and I want a consistent medium whose existence discourages me from flooding the zone with the pseudo-insights that show up on my twitter TL.
I’ll be publishing once a week (several posts will be sections from the unfinished book). However, if I don’t publish once a week, you’re still not entitled to a refund. This site is provided as-is. By subscribing to this site, you agree to indemnify me from and against all claims arising out of or related to your subscription. You agree not to seek damages from me and are estopped from disagreeing with me.
Next week’s post will be an introduction to group narcissism.
Yes, hello
thanks for not writing a book and capitalizing on recurring revenue instead. It's much more intellectually honest. proud to be here with ya friend.
