I’m making a semi-relevant digression from the topic of genealogy to publish a trivial, common sense point.

We’ve been awash in rich people conspiracy theories since the dissident and alt right became cool in 2016, with the movement’s success eventually being attributed to a conspiracy by Silicon Valley moguls from the so-called “PayPal Mafia” to do something bad, like a neoliberalism or a fascism. Mostly the bad rich guys are Thiel and Musk, with a few others like the Adelsons making it onto the list from time to time.

I always found this narrow focus a bit strange. Why not other billionaires? Ron Unz is a billionaire who hosts and promotes the most extreme right-wing content, yet nobody on the left advances any conspiracy theories about him.

On the right, people mostly look at George Soros and Bill Gates, with some beginning to look more closely at the Pritzkers.

None of these conspiracy theories acknowledge that rich people conspiracies are an inescapable cornerstone of our democracy. Why is this? Let’s first take a look at the rich people behind Kamala Harris.

According to Fox News, the following individuals are Kamala’s top individual backers:

  • Reed Hastings

    • Billionaire co-founder and executive chair of Netflix

    • Boston Brahmin, Marine, tech billionaire

    • His Netflix co-founder, Marc Randolph, is the paternal grand-nephew of Edward Bernays, the father of PSYOPs (marketing), according to conspiracy theorists. As I’ve documented on this blog, Netflix promotes global CIA omnipotence slop (that is, promotes the conspiracy theory of an omnipotent and competent CIA).

  • Reid Hoffman

    • Billionaire co-founder and executive chairman of LinkedIn.

    • Big investor in generative AI, former member of the board of directors of PayPal

    • Bilderberg Group member

    • Council on Foreign Relations member

    • Owner of an Epstein Island visitor pass

    • Recently engendered controversy during a public rich man argument with Peter Thiel by seeming to imply that he wished Trump had been assassinated.

    • There’s a lot of conspiracy content about him being Jewish out there, which I suspect is generated by Jews who obsess over these things. He is not Jewish, however, and descends from an east coast presbyterian minister on the paternal line.

  • George and Alex Soros

    • Not much to say here. People have been saying some nasty, nasty things about Alex, which I won’t repeat.

  • Melinda Gates

    • Ex-wife of rich Epstein friend, Bill Gates.

  • Sheryl Sandberg

    • Former Meta COO.

    • According to Wikipedia, Zuckerberg blamed her for the Cambridge Analytica scandal, to which the prestige press attributed Trump’s electoral success.

  • Vinod Khosla

    • Billionaire co-founder of Sun Microsystems

    • Indian

    • Believes in using capitalism “as a solution for social impact due to its ability to scale,” according to Wikipedia.

Why might these individuals support Kamala Harris?
