Imperial nihilism marches on

I’ve spent most of my articles dealing with more literary and niche group-narcissistic authors. I have at least one more article in that series but want to start shifting to another planned theme of my blog, which consists in looking toward more mainstream and middle-class expressions of group narcissism.

This roundup looks at recent examples of group narcissistic legislation in the news. Specifically, we will look at Florida laws signed and celebrated by Ron DeSantis in Israel, the California Reparations Task Force, and Ambassador Rahm Emanuel’s promotion of an upcoming Japanese law on LGBTQ equality.

DeSantis Implements the Woke Agenda

Before I get started here, I want to emphasize that this isn’t about the constitutionality of hate crimes. It is unconstitutional for states and the federal government to restrict hate speech. What “hate” is cannot be defined, and its subjective vagueness goes to the focus of the DeSantis section of this post.
